Daddy Do List

Since I'm on summer break now, pretty soon my son will only be going to daycare two days a week and I'll be taking care of him the other three days. I'm looking forward to it, though I often start wondering what I'm going to do with him all day. I've come up with some good goals for this summer, though, aside from just plain having fun!
Goal 1: Teach him the alphabet. He knows the song already, kind of. A lot of the letters get mushed together! I don't think he'll understand what the letters are, but I at least want to teach him to identify them on sight. He's got a pretty good visual memory, I don't think learning the letters will be too hard for him as long as I don't rush it!
Goal 2: Teach him to remember the number four. Currently when he counts it's usually "one two three five six seven eight nine ten." Which is definitely better than the "one two three five seven eight seven" it used to be (seven has always been his favorite number)! Still, I don't want him to get too far into the habit of leaving out the four!
Goal 3: Use his pool. We got a little inflatable pool on sale at the beginning of last summer, and then the temperature never got warm enough to use it. We've already had some hot weather this year, so hopefully it will eventually stop raining and warm up again. I'm hesitant to leave the pool out because of the dogs next door, but since we bought it we probably ought to use it!
Goal 4: Take Mommy lunch at work once a week, if possible. I think she'd like that!
Goal 5: Teach him to clean up his toys! I think Mommy would like that too.
So that's the short list. I'm sure other things will be added as the summer goes on. We'll see how much we get done!
